Update: We've now advanced to 9th slot, making MJ12 one of our absolutely highest ranked projects. It not only is a top ten position, it also means that it's our highest ranking project on Free-DC. However, your help will make us advance faster to slot no 1. (Updated 2008-06-24) As usual, Team Haiku is making terrific strides all over the place in some of the large projects as well the smaller ones. This time we would like to note our progress on Majestic 12 . We're currently in 10th position , which is going to change in the upcoming 2 weeks if nothing strange happens. However, what is pretty unique is the fact that we're in top 3 (sometimes no 1) in last days performance. What this basically means is that assuming we get a couple of more people on board we will actually be no 1 on this project overall. Now this is indeed a milestone, and indeed it would be a very good marker for Team Haiku and Haiku-OS as MJ12 is all about crawling the Internet. If we can get 5 more people onboard who are willing to donate bandwidth (yes, this is not about CPU cycles and hardly compete on your comp with other projects) we are very very likely to get to the number #1 slot in a not so distant future. MJ12 allows you to tweak performance so assuming you only want to give a small portion of your bandwidth that's obviously fine too (I'm writing this am I not?). So join up today and help us get that no #1 slot. On a sidenote: We also advanced on PSP Proth from 13th to 12th slot today . And doing great futurewise as well! Comments (0) |

Alright, it has been a while since I've posted regularly on Team Haiku's status. Part of this was because things have slowed down for Team Haiku and a larger part is due to me getting quite busy. Team Haiku is currently ranked as the following on DC-Vault: Overall | Physical Science | Biological/Medical Science | Mathematical | Miscellaneous | 12 | 24 | 24 | 11 | 10 |
Our positions in Physical Science and Biological/Medical Science have fluctuated a bit over the past few months due to the nature of work availabilty in the projects. I suspect some solid work in the muon1 DPAD and Einstein@Home projects would help with physical science ranking. Seems like any solid work in Biological/Medical Science would help in that area, although I would like to see our World Community Grid ranking go up. Team Haiku is current ranked as 57 on stats.free-dc.org. Work is needed in several areas. It would be nice to get some solid contribution on d2ol and community TSC which would also help our Biological/Medical on DC-Vault. I myself expect to get some new machines up, running, and contributing soon. As for future status updates, I hope to provide a monthly update around the beginning of each month. While I'm quite busy at the moment, I do expect the website to be updated in the upcoming months. Suggestions for comments: discussion of what projects to run, what website improvements you would like to see Comments (2) |

We're proud to announce that we have finally completed the BOINC port to Haiku. This is one more step to eventually allow Haiku users to participate in all the most popular distributed computing projects using their favorite OS! Along with BOINC client software, we have also ported the latest SETI application code to allow Haiku BOINC users to immediately start participating in SETI. Once you have your Haiku install up and running, go grab the client here and start crunching! (Oblig. April 2nd Disclaimer: This was a joke - however porting the BOINC client to Haiku is on a list of things I'd like to see eventually.) Comments (1) |
